What is Boost?
From June 19th – 21st 2017, JM Norway will host the JMI Global conference: Boost – Technology and Equality in Music. Boost will discuss two important topics concerning everybody working with music today: The impact of new technology and the work on gender equality.
The conference program will take place at Sentralen in Oslo's city center. On Wednesday evening we invite all participants to a concert, followed by a Swedish-style midsummer party at Voksenåsen, with a stunning view over Oslo.
Who is Boost for?
Boost will be a participatory event, aiming to spread new ideas and encourage international cooperation. We will present new technology, new perspectives and new opportunities for everybody interested in music, technology and gender equality.
Boost is for organizers, teachers, students and everyone else interested in the development of the music field.
What can I experience at Boost?
Through engaging talks, panel debates and workshops we will discuss how new technology changes the field of music and how it effects the work on gender equality. You will meet renowned scholars, musicians and technologists and hear their insights on the possibilities new technology creates.
As a Boost delegate, you will have the opportunity to network with devoted artists, scholars, cultural workers, developers, students and educators within the music and technology fields from all around the world. By introducing the latest developments and research on technology and gender equality in the music field, Boost offers valuable insight, plenty of inspiration and new tools for delegates to bring along and institute in their own work.
The participation fee for the full conference covers the entire speaker-, panel- and workshop program, as well as unique concert experiences during the evenings, and coffee and lunch for three days.
